All soldiers or applicants are invited to attend these classes that lead to EMS certification, and all soldiers will need to contact their Commanders for Orders. Military Orders for training will allow the soldier to be excused from work for these classes.
Testing must be arranged by each individual soldier at a later date. This class prepares you for the National Registry testing for First Responder, not EMT-Basic. There is a 65.00 fee for the exam that is not included in the fees for the class and arrangements for the exam are your responsibility.
You will also be required to complete CPR certification and keep it current.
The certification is good for 2 years and re-certification requires continuing education.
This particular course is targeted for individuals wanting an EMS certification so they may volunteer their time with the Boy Scouts of America. HOWEVER, The course instructor is offering this class to our group at the same rate and we may register for the course through the BSA online registration process. The course states it is limited to 12, however, the instructor has added spaces for our troops. Follow the below link to register.
