Medical Brigade Hurricane Deployment Required Training

A) Completed Shelter Training

  • Texas State Guard Shelter Training Part I will be at the La Marque Armory on Tuesday, 24 May from 1900-2200.
  • Recruits and Applicants are welcome to attend.
  • The next shelter training will likely not be held until well after hurricane season is over.
  • Shelter Training will continue 12 July and 26 July.
  • (There will be no regular Alpha Co. drill in June due to Annual Training in Brownwood, Texas at Camp Bowie.)
  • It is possible that prior Red Cross or BCFS Shelter Training may be substituted this year.

B) Completed Medical Training or Medical Certification

  • Vital Signs Certification will be held at Angleton Danbury Medical Center Saturday 9 July 0800-1200.
  • Recruits and Applicants are welcome to attend.
  • There will be no other opportunity to get any medical certification before southern deployment or before the height of hurricane season.

C) Completed FEMA courses for deployment

Recruits and Applicants can also take these courses. Print and save your certificates. Give a copy to your Company Clerk when you are sworn in for your personnel file.
