Don't let this happen to you. Hydrate yourself constantly.

Every year at AT it is hot and we will be outdoors for a good part of the day. It is important that you be aware how to take care of yourselves first, and how to take care of your fellow soldiers second. Be aware of how much the soldiers next to you are drinking.

The most effective preventive for the day-after dehydration headache is to use half-strength G2 (Gatorade) in your water and to drink adequate water recommended by the chart, not by how thirsty you feel! A good guideline is also the color of your urine. It should be pale yellow.

Bring your own aspirin/ibuprofen/tylenol, benadryl/zyrtec, bandaids/moleskin, sunblock, etc. The first aid station should not be for these minor problems. Be prepared to take care of yourself and for your fellow soldier who might have come unprepared.
